With winter chills setting in, ’tis the season for asking, Why don’t we get a place in Florida? For those in the market for a new upscale abode, the pickings are about to get a whole lot wider. Three high-profile residential buildings with penthouses are slated for completion over the next two years in Miami—Florida’s capital of livelihood and luxury.
Jade Signature: Situated on Sunny Isles beach, this 57-story high rise is a collaboration between world-renowned architecture firm Herzog de Meuron and developers Fortune International Group. Pierre-Yves Rochon’s design firm PYR–known for their work in the Four Seasons George V in Paris, The Savoy Hotel in London and The Peninsula in Shanghai—is responsible for most of the building’s interior spaces. The 192 residences start at $2 million for 1,400 square feet. Jade Signature is already under construction and is projected to be completed in late 2016.
The $29 million penthouse at Jade Signature is a modern, open-air space. At 11,660 square feet with a 7,570 square foot 360 degree wraparound balcony, the residence takes up the entire 56th floor and part of the 57th. It has 5 bedrooms (convertible to 7), 9.5 baths, a private pool on the oceanfront terrace, a private elevator, an in-unit gym facility, and a spa room with 12 foot ceilings.
One Thousand Museum: Famed architect Zaha Hadid is bringing a new level of luxury to downtown Miami. Construction is already underway for One Thousand Museum, which has an estimated completion date in late 2016. At 62 stories with 83 units, this project marks her first skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. Hadid’s design features a spa, sky lounge, shared and private pools, and a variety of unit layout options ranging from a duplex penthouse to half-floor residences.
The duplex penthouse encompasses the 58th and 59th floors. With 6 bedrooms and 6.5 baths, the indoor living space totals 15,200 square feet, which includes a private indoor pool, private gym and private access to the building’s rooftop helipad. Terraces and balconies add an additional 1,300 feet of outdoor living space. The unit overlooks Museum Park and Biscayne Bay, with a price-tag hovering around $49 million, though customization will affect the exact number.
The Bath Club Estates: Soon, a new 18-story condominium complex will grace Miami Beach’s waterfront—the brainchild of developer Peebles Corporation and a variety of accomplished architects. The building is ultra-exclusive with only 13 residential units: one triplex penthouse, two duplex villas, and ten one-floor estates. Construction will commence in January 2015, and the building should be finished by mid 2016. Chris Leavitt from Douglas Elliman is the broker.
Designed by architect Jennifer Post–who has been named by Architectural Digest as one of the top 100 designers in the world for 13 consecutive years—the triplex penthouse is situated on the building’s top three floors. The $50 million unit will have 9,200 square feet of indoor living space, with almost as much outdoors thanks to its wraparound terrace with views of the ocean, Biscayne Bay and the Miami skyline. It has 5 bedrooms and 7.5 baths, though the layout is customizable. Other features include an elevator, home theater, and a private terrace with an infinity pool.
