A “Grace Kelly: princess and style icon” exhibition will take place at the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku on June 12, inviting viewers to discover the life of screen legend and Princess Grace Kelly, beyond the fairy tale.
Monarch Albert Alexandre II, the son of Princess Grace will attend the opening ceremony. The exhibition will showcase clothes, accessories, letters and photographs to bring to life the unique story of the fascinating and eventful life of Princess Grace of Monaco. In general, visitors will have a chance to familiarize themselves with more than 200 rare exhibits.
The event will also be remembered with a premiere, as it will feature the princess' cars for the first time of the exhibition’s history. One of these cars - the Austin Taxi, 1952, was the very car the princess, with her children loved to travel in.
The exhibition will last until November 1.
Since the creation of "The Grace Kelly Years, Princess of Monaco" in 2007 in the Principality, the exhibition has been attended by more than 135, 000 people. So far the exhibition has been held in Paris, Moscow, Rome, Toronto, Astana, Montreal, Sao Paulo, Bendigo, Doylestown and Apeldoorn. Grace was one of the most famous Hollywood movie stars. From 1951 to 1956, she appeared in 11 films. For her role in the film "The Country Girl" Grace won an "Oscar". She also has been honored twice with the "Golden Globe" award.
She met with Prince Rainier III of Monaco during the Cannes Film Festival in 1955; this completely changed her life. A year after their first meeting Grace married Prince Rainier III, thus ending her film career. Princess Grace, mother to three children, was engaged in social activities and charities. Both in the period of her acting career, and as Princess of Monaco. She attracted the attention of millions with a peculiar style and refined taste. Grace died in a car accident in 1982.
