Russian magazine “Finance” reported that in the list of Russia’s 500 richest people, Vagit Alekperov, the chairman of LUKoil, ranks eighth with $10.65 billion in assets. This is a sliding down from the last year’s rating for Alekperov, which was the fourth place.



Telman Ismailov, owner of the AST group of companies ranks 87 with $0.86 billion in assets. He deals mainly in privatization, construction, real estate, and capital investment. Ismailov’s rating increased by 227 points compared with the magazine’s last rating.

Araz Agalarov, father of Ilham Aliyev’s son-in-law ranks 99 with $0.7 billion in assets. Agalarov owns Crocus group. He deals with construction, retail sales and the restaurant business. Last year Agalarov ranked 144.

The richest man in Russia is Vladimir Lisin, owner of the Novolipetzk metallurgy enterprise. His capital is estimated at $18.8 billion.
Norilsk nickel owner Michael Prokhorov ranks second ($17.85 billion) and the owner of the “Chelsea” Club Roman Abramovich ranks third with $17 billion in assets (Turan).
