Zangilan District Court hears cases related to civil, criminal, administrative offenses and other cases within the territory of Zangilan district as a court of first instance.
Zangilan District Court was created in 1930, and its previous name was Zangilan District Peoples Court. Zangilan administrative district which is located in the west of the Republic of Azerbaijan shares borders with the Islamic Republic of Iran in the south, Gubadli district in the north and Jabrail district in the east. Its area is 707 sq km and it has a population of 35370. The region which is located in the crossroads of the East and West, has been one of the key points of trade transit.
The antiquity of the history of this region is represented by yhe towers, observation points and archeological excavations, discovered material / cultural monuments and artifacts. Zangilan district was created on August 1930. Zangilan settlement was given the status of a city in 1967. On 29 October 1993, the district was invaded by Armenian armed forces. The population of Zangilan district is settled in various districts of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
