Khizi District Court hears cases related to civil, criminal, administrative offenses and other cases within the territory of Khizi district as a court of first instance.Khizi district was created in 1930. The district was merged with Sumgayit city in 1956 and was later made part of Absheron district. In 1990, Khizi became an independent district again.Khizi district court was established in 1990 (Previously called Khizi District People’s Court).It has a population of 15 062 (21 June 2011). The total area of the district is 1850 km². There are 3136 refugees and 391 IDPs settled in Khizi district as a result of the aggressive policy of Armenian occupiers. The district shares borders with Siyazan, Shamakhi, Sumgayit and Absheron administrative territorial units.
