State Fire Protection Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan

Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan was established according to the Order of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated December 16, 2005 and Main State Fire Safety Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan was transferred to that Ministry. The Department was reorganized under the MES when its headquarters was approved with the Decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic dated 19 April 2006 and State Fire Control Service was established. State Fire Protection Service is an executive body carrying out fire suppression and related emergency rescue operations (people, property, etc.), also identifying the requirements regarding to development of firefighting equipment and facilities, as well as the establishment of voluntary and extra fire protection units • To conduct emergency rescue operations related with fire fighting and elimination of fire consequences, participating in the formation of a united state policy in the relevant field to ensure the implementation of this policy; • To coordinate within the united state policy activities of central executive and local management bodies in thes fields fire fighting and elimination of its consequences ; • To carry out the regulatory and supervisory functions on matters relating to the operation of the service.
