Salyan District Court

Salyan District Court hears cases related to civil, criminal, administrative offenses and other cases within the territory of Salyan district as a court of first instance.Salyan District Court is located in Salyan city. Salyan District Court has a two storied administrative building. The court has a president and a panel of judges. The office of the court employs civil servants on administrative and support functions by 12 positions.

Establishment of the Court

In 1930, Salyan District People’s Court was established. Following the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the court has continued to function in Salyan district. At present, the name of the court is Salyan District Court.Salyan district was established as an administrative district in 1930.The administrative territory of Salyan district consists of 1 (one) city, 2 (two) settlements and 48 (forty eight) villages. It has a population of 124631 and its area is 75203 sq km.There are 281 (two hundred and eighty one) refugees and 1085 (one thousand eighty five) internally displaced persons in the territory of Salyan district.Salyan district shares borders with Shirvan city, Sabirabad, Bilasuvar, Neftchala districts and the Caspian Sea.
