About National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan
National Central Bureau of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan (main department) - criminal intelligence exchange between the national law-enforcement agencies and their counterparts in the member states of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol)
NCB exercises the following duties:
Providing exchange information in the field of combating crime between the national law-enforcement agencies and their counterparts in the Interpol member states.
Processing requests and inquiries forwarded through Interpol channels.
With a view to preventing and disclosing criminal offences forwarding requests to the NCB-s in the member states concerning criminal offences, offenders, as well as wanted persons, subjects and documents.
Processing similar requests and inquiries in conjunction with relevant national law-enforcement agencies.
Forwarding requests and inquiries concerning foreign nationals suspected in perpetration of criminal offences in Azerbaijan, as well as subject to criminal liabilities or arrest warrant to the General Secretariat of Interpol (IPSG) and other NCB-s.
Drafting reports on the outcomes of combating crimes in Azerbaijan, as well as new forms and types of criminal offences and best practice in this respect pending their further submission to the General Secretariat in cases of necessity.
Creation of databank comprising intelligence and other types of information obtained in the course of international police cooperation.
Updating the national law-enforcement agencies concerning requirements and preconditions of the international cooperation in the field of combating transnational crime, as well as applying to the IPSG with proposals on improvement of performance in this field.
Requesting documents and agreements related to the police performance and combating transnational from the General Secretariat of Interpol.
Drafting reports and summaries on the issues related to international cooperation in the field of combating crime, as well as reviews based on the information provided by criminal police services of the Interpol member states.
The National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol in the Republic of Azerbaijan was established pursuant to Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan (No.72, signed on Feb.9, 1993).
