Kangarli District Court hears cases related to civil, criminal, administrative offenses and other cases within the territory of district as a court of first instance.

Establishment of Kangarli District Court

Kangarli District Court was established based on the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 17 June 2004 and has been functioning since 16 November 2004. The court is a single-judge court. Kangarli District Court hears civil, criminal cases, as well as cases related to administrative offenses and other cases delegated to it by law as a court of first instance in accordance with article 20 of the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “on Courts and Judges” dated 10 June 1997. Additionally, Kangarli District Court analyses judicial statistics, studies and consolidates the status of organization of court activity, as well as judicial practices and exercises other authorities as delegated to it by the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Activities of the Court

Kangarli District Court is located in the administrative center of Kangarli district – in a separate administrative building in Givrag settlement. The building of the court which features a modern design was commissioned on 17 April 2008. There are good conditions in the building to conduct court activities efficiently and the conditions required by the high status of the court have been met. The building consists of satellite areas, including an archive, heating house and an underground level where a canteen for 24 people and service rooms are located, and a court room and conference hall. The court room is on the fisrt floor of the building. The area of the room is 85 sq m which has a capacity to hold 40 persons. The look and interior of the court room reflects the high status of the court. A large screen and video recorder fixed in the court room assists in the recording of court hearings more effectively. The library of the court is in a separate room which has an area of 30 sq m. A conference hall which is located in the second floor of the building has an area of 30 sq m and allows to hold various events involving 20 persons.
