About Sports Society

Sports Society is an independent unit, carrying out appropriate measures to enhance physical fitness of the MIA officers and military servicemen of the Inner Troops of the republic and promote the mass sports.“DINAMO” physical culture and sports society was established in Baku according to the order of Azerbaijan Extra Ordinary Committee N28, dated 09.03.1926, the new branches of the society were established in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic the same year, in 1927 in Lenkoran and Jabrail, in 1929 in Gandja and Goytapa, after 2 years in Zagatala and then in Sumgayit, Mingachevir and in other regions. Sport Society was included as a Department to the structure of Ministry of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Republic by the approved Decree of the President of Azerbaijan Republic № 518, dated 30.06.2001.Since its establishment the Sport Society has trained sportsmen worthly representing the Azerbaijan Sport in throughout the World, European Championships and Olympic Games. At present Society has 22 sports functioning sections, 15 of which (Free-style Wrestling, Greco-Roman Wrestling, Judo, Box, Shooting, Stand Shooting, Gymnastics, Acrobatics, Handball, Taekvondo, Basketball, Tennis, Table Tennis, Badminton, Equestrian Sport) are included to Olympic Programme and 7 of which (Karate, Kickboxing, Aykido, Jio-Jitsu, chess, Ushu-Sando, Athletics) are included to non - Olympic Programme. Society has a stadium for 1500 persons in Nakhchivan; Sport Palace for Box and other Sport kinds: halls for wrestling, Sambo, Judo, Karate, Taekvondo and Athletics in Gandja; 9 Sport halls for wrestling, Judo, Sambo, Box, Kickboxing, Athletics, Taekvondo, Chess and Karate Located in Azerbaijan AV, 32 in Baku; 1 sport stadium; Summer Sport Complex in Boulevard; Single combat Center Located in Inshaatchilar Av,30; 1-50 m, 2-25 m (one of Closed) and 1-10 m of Shooting –Range Located in Azadlig Av, 157; 1 –training class; 1 – shooting complex functioning.At present the Society has around 50.000 members.
