"Gilan Seramik" LLC has launched the construction of a plant for the production of ceramic tiles at the end of 2009. Construction of the plant coincided with a new period of rapid industrialization process, implementation of major infrastructure projects. The plant consists of a main building and ancillary buildings with an area of 19,700 m2. The plant which occupies an area of 26 hectares, is equipped with modern equipment, manufactured by the Italian company "Sacmi". Based on the technology of the company 83 plants for the production of ceramic tiles have been built up in 26 countries around the world, only one of which is located in the South Caucasus in Azerbaijan.

Activities of Gilan Seramik plant

Daily production capacity is 11,000 m2. This indicator allows the plant to produce 3.6 million m2 of ceramic tiles per year.AZN 40.2m has been invested into creation of the enterprise. A preferential loan of AZN 5m has been allocated by the National Fund of Assistance to Entrepreneurship of the Ministry of Economic Development for equipment purchase and construction works. The annual demand of the enterprise for raw materials makes 80,000 tons. Most part of this demand will be met through local stock and some mixtures will be supplied from Turkey and Ukraine.

As a result of the market research carried out in the republic before the construction of the plant, it was determined that the annual demand of the republic in the ceramic tile is 8 million m2. If in the first year of its existence, the plant meets this need by only 20%, today it is able to make up for it already at 40% per year. The company will play a crucial role in ensuring the needs of the domestic market in these materials.According to the information, in the southern part of the plant on the territory of 15 hectares it is planned to build the enterprise producing various showers, baths, as well as other types of equipment of sanitary conveniences. The implementation of these projects into reality will give an impuls for greater social and economic development of the region and will play a major role in the provision of jobs.
