Baku City Narimanov District Court hears cases related to civil, criminal, administrative offenses and other cases within the territory of Baku city Narimanov district as a court of first instance.
Narimanov district is one of the 11 districts of Baku city. The district is located in Baku city and is part of Baku-Absheron Economic zone. Narimanov district was founded in 1941. In January 1941 Keshla district Laboring Deputies’ Council’s Executive Committee was created, and the name of Keshla district was changed in August 1957 to Narimanov district Laboring Deputies’ Council’s Executive Committee. There are no settlements, villages and other administrative territorial units in Narimanov district. There are 8 higher education institutions, 22 high schools, 3 colleges, 34 kindergartens, 27 medical institutions, 9 hospitals and 4 historical monuments.
The district has 4 leisure parks, 1 public palace, 1 cinema, 5 libraries (books - 348183) which enable the population to spend their time efficiently and productively. Besides, Baku Zoo, National Olympic Committee and the National Stadium named after T.Bahramov are also located in Narimanov district.The area of Narimanov district is 24.5 km² and it has a population of 170.000 (01 January 2011). The district shares borders with Nizami, Khatai, Binagadi, Nasimi and Sabunchu districts of Baku. There are 18.000 refugees and IDPs settled in Narimanov district as a result of the aggressive policy of Armenian occupiers.
