Baku Administrative-Economical Court No1 hears, within relevant territorial jurisdiction, economic cases arising between legal entities regardless of their management or other affiliation and subordination, and individuals who are engaged in an entrepreneurship activity without establishing a legal person and those who obtain the status of a private entrepreneur as determined by the law, and administrative disputes which arise between persons regardless of their legal status.
New economic courts of the Republic of Azerbaijan were established on 1 November 2000 with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 17.06.1999. according to that decree, 3 courts were established across the nation – Local Economical Court No1 of the Republic of Azerbaijan located in Baku city, Local Economical Court No2 of the Republic of Azerbaijan located in Ganja city and Local Economical Court No3 of the Republic of Azerbaijan located in Ali-Bayramli city.Subsequently, based on the Decree dated 17.08.2006 issued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Local Economical Court No1 of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku city was abolished in August 2007 and Baku Local Economical Courts No1 and No2, and Sumgayit Local Economical Court was established based on it.
Later, based on the Decree dated 17.07.2010 issued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Local Economical Court No1 of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Baku city was abolished and Baku Administrative-Economical Court No1 was established effective from 1 January 2011.The court functions with a panel of 10 judges and its territorial jurisdiction covers Garadagh, Binagadi, Nasimi, Sabail and Yasamal districts of Baku city.
